Therapeutic Tools

A Shared Program Of Recovery© 2011

The shared recovery activities incorporated in the course will help them bring the romance back into their struggling union or help new relationships to begin on a firm foundation.

The course is designed to be self-directed or led by a therapist knowledgeable in the treatment of addictive disorders.

The material can be incorporated into your weekly clinical work with your clients or interwoven into your outpatient or residential treatment program as a therapeutic module to provide to seasoned clients.

The course will help your clients to understand how to:

  • Develop strategies for promoting emotional and spiritual safety
  • Be responsible to a loved one’s recovery and not for it
  • Address the injuries of the past without becoming embroiled in conflict
  • Create methods for building a common sober bond
  • Support each other through the completion of shared Step work
  • Enhance the emotional and spiritual health of the relationship
  • Construct methods for monitoring the progress of the relationship and each partner’s contribution to the relationship’s health

Strengthen the bond the partners share by carrying the message of hope to other struggling couples.
