Event Details:

Date and Time: Friday & Saturday, September 13 & 14, 2013

Location: The Ranch, 6107 Pinewood Rd, Nunnelly, TN 37137

Cost: $150 per couple

Event Description:

This two day couples retreat is designed to help partners in romantic recovery identify the trigger-points that can lead one or both partners to feel insecure or unsafe in their relationship.

Strategies are introduced and couples learn in real time through interactive experiential tasks and role play to help the program attendees intervene on and overcome defensiveness in their romance that can block open communication and mutual support. Most often the best place to find security in the face of romantic threats is in the soul of your partner – or – “The Belly of the Whale.”

This couples retreat is being hosted by The Ranch in Nunnelly Tennessee.  The Ranch is a full service inpatient rehab and a “family member” facility of Elements Behavioral Health. REVIEWS

Here is what previous attendees at LCCS couple’s retreats have had to say about their experience:

“The couples’ retreats with the Leadems   provided great experiences. We were usually worried and uncomfortable before a retreat began, but then couldn’t wait for the next one to be scheduled! By sharing their struggles the other couples gave us insight into our own relationship. We were able to see that we were not alone in our pain. We were able to understand an issue by listening to another couple work it out in a retreat. That helped us develop compassion and patience for our relationship. The retreats are so worth the time and effort we had to put into them!”  -Kerri & Jerry W.

“The Leadem-Couple’s Workshops my husband and I attended transformed our marriage.  Through the workshops, we learned how to share our most vulnerable selves and that, by doing so, we created a space in our marriage where nothing was off limits.  We learned that we were not alone in our couple-ship journey of hurt and healing.  We learned the value of surrounding our marriage with other recovering couples, an immeasurable tool in our marriage today.  All of this was done in an atmosphere of safety, compassion, and hope.  The principles on which our marriage is based today (nothing being off limits, help from other couples, and the right to Joy in our marriage) were birthed in the couple’s workshops facilitated by the Leadems.  Our gratitude for them is beyond measure.  Words truly fall short of describing the help we received during the workshops.”  -Sandy

“We have participated in many couples retreat days given by John and Elaine.  It is hard to put into words all the things we have received from each and every one.  Having had enough failed relationships between us we knew what not to do.  Through a unique combination of therapeutic skill and personal experience, John and Elaine helped us to heal from the past, recognize the power it had on us, and to not be afraid of it.  It’s like doing something for your relationship that although  at the time certainly seemed important  but as we look back years later,  we realized that our marriage couldn’t have  survived without it. ”  -Jack and Donna

“My wife and I gained so much from being a part of the couples retreat that we attended. John and Elaine helped us to see the many ways that we can show up for each other. John and Elaine use their experience as a couple and as therapists to make the retreat a phenomenal experience.
I would recommend the couples retreats to any couple looking to increase their intimacy and closeness in their relationship. What we learned in the retreat we still talk about and use today – many years later. The other couples that we met through the experience have become an integral part of our recovery and our support.”  -Jim
